Hawaii Water Service is conducting a feasibility study for a decentralized wastewater treatment plant in Kapalua to enhance local water security and reduce drought vulnerability. The study, supported by Carollo Engineering Inc., will assess potential sites, treatment technologies, regulatory considerations, and costs. Expected to conclude in fall 2026, the evaluation aims to determine the operational and sustainability benefits of local wastewater treatment.
