The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) has facilitated the transport of a 189.260 metric tonne Over Dimensional Cargo (ODC) consignment to support Tata's semiconductor unit in Assam. The cargo, which began its journey from Diamond Harbour, reached Pandu, Guwahati via National Waterway-2 and the Indo-Bangladesh Protocol Route. The shipment is crucial for the Rs 27,000 crore semiconductor project in Morigaon, showcasing the role of inland waterways in cost-effective and environmentally sustainable logistics.
