Honda and GM to Cease Fuel Cell Production at U.S. Joint Venture FCSM
HYDROGENFUEL CELL
Honda and General Motors will discontinue fuel cell production at their joint venture, Fuel Cell System Manufacturing (FCSM), before the end of 2026, following positive outcomes from the initiative. GM will also halt the development of next-generation hydrogen fuel cells by October 2025, while Honda plans to shift its focus to its own fuel cell systems and expand its hydrogen business despite challenges in scaling back plans for a new production facility in Japan.
