Hydrogen Council Launched in Davos by 13 Major Companies to Drive Hydrogen Adoption

Thirteen major companies launched the Hydrogen Council during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. This initiative aims to promote hydrogen as a key solution for the energy transition to sustainable energy.

The Council plans to work with stakeholders, including policymakers and businesses, to accelerate investments in hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, currently estimated at €1.4 billion ($1.5 billion) annually, with a goal to increase this to €10 billion ($10.8 billion) over the next five years. The members include Air Liquide, Alstom, Anglo American, BMW, Daimler, Engie, Honda, Hyundai Motor Company, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Royal Dutch Shell, The Linde Group, Total, and Toyota Motor Corporation. The Council, co-chaired by Benoît Potier of Air Liquide and Takeshi Uchiyamada of Toyota, calls for increased government support and coordinated policies to promote hydrogen solutions across various sectors.
