Iberdrola Advances Electrification in Australia with New Battery Projects in New South Wales

Iberdrola has launched two energy storage projects in New South Wales, Australia, enhancing renewable energy integration. The Kingswood project, with a capacity of 100 MW, and the Smithfield facility, with a capacity of 65 MW, aim to improve grid flexibility and energy efficiency.
The total storage capacity of approximately 1,000 MWh will support over 65,000 households during peak hours. Iberdrola plans to invest over €1 billion in Australia by 2028 to solidify its position in the energy market.
