ICAR Launches ACASA Portal to Support Farmers in Adapting to Climate Change Risks

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has launched the ACASA portal to help farmers tackle climate-related challenges, complementing the National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) program. The initiative includes workshops and stakeholder engagement to promote climate-resilient technologies, alongside the development of 11 new crop varieties and plans for a carbon trading platform in India. Additionally, farmers may earn carbon credits for adopting eco-friendly practices, enhancing the sustainability of agriculture in the region.
