HYDROGEN

Incheon City announced on December 16 that it will implement a comprehensive innovation plan for its semi-public bus system, focusing on financial efficiency, public service, routes, and service quality. This initiative aims to enhance public transportation sustainability and welfare, with plans to convert all buses to eco-friendly vehicles by 2033.

The city will gradually expand charging facilities for electric and hydrogen vehicles and expand eco-driving practices to metropolitan buses by 2026. Additionally, Incheon will secure national funding for the semi-public system and restrict foreign capital sales in private equity funds.

The average bus dispatch time is targeted to be reduced from 22.4 minutes to 19 minutes by 2027, while the number of buses per 10,000 residents is set to increase to 7.3. The city aims to boost bus ridership from 260 million in 2024 to 300 million by 2030, enhancing services and facilities for citizens.
