India Collaborates with Global Maritime Partners for Port and Shipping Sector Development

The Indian government is engaging with various countries and organizations to enhance its ports, shipping, and maritime logistics sectors. Key initiatives include partnerships for port modernization, shipping infrastructure development, green shipping, digitization, and maritime skills training.

Notable collaborations involve an India-Russia partnership for the Northern Sea Route, an Indo-Danish Centre of Excellence in Green Shipping, and a partnership with Singapore for a Green and Digital Shipping Corridor. The Deendayal Port Authority in Gujarat has teamed up with the Port of Rotterdam to establish advanced facilities for green hydrogen.

The government has also approved Rs 69,725 crore to revitalize the shipbuilding sector. 'India Maritime Week 2025' in Mumbai will see participation from over 93 countries, showcasing India's commitment to global maritime engagement.
