CARBON CAPTURE
On September 14, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India's first bamboo-based bioethanol plant in Numaligarh, Assam. Developed by Numaligarh Refinery Limited with a ₹5,000 crore investment, the facility will process 500,000 tonnes of bamboo annually, producing 48,900 tonnes of ethanol, along with furfural, acetic acid, and food-grade carbon dioxide.
