India to Launch National Carbon Capture Initiative with Significant Government Incentives
HYDROGENCARBON CAPTURE
India is set to introduce a national carbon capture initiative aimed at reconciling its rising energy demands with climate objectives while maintaining its reliance on coal. The program will provide financial support of 50 to 100 for specific projects that incorporate carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) technologies. Despite the country's ambitious goal of expanding non-fossil fuel capacity to 500 GW by 2030, coal is expected to remain a critical component of India's energy strategy for the next two decades.
