India's Cleantech Recycling Strategy for Global Manufacturing Leadership
HYDROGEN
India is strategically focusing on cleantech-driven recycling to reduce import reliance and bolster its manufacturing capabilities, targeting 500 GW of non-fossil energy and 30% electric vehicle sales by 2030, with a net-zero goal by 2070. The domestic cleantech market could reach ₹6-8 trillion, and enhancing recycling infrastructure could save ₹5-6 trillion in import costs while creating 1 million jobs. To achieve these goals, India needs to mobilize ₹2 trillion in public investment and increase R&D spending to 1% of GDP, emphasizing a comprehensive approach to innovation and workforce development.
