Indonesia's Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani announced the groundbreaking of six downstream projects, including a $3 billion bauxite alumina initiative in West Kalimantan, set to begin in February 2026. This effort is part of a broader strategy to launch 18 downstream projects this year, with a focus on local government and community involvement, as well as support for local SMEs and the disabled. Downstream investments are expected to reach IDR 584.13 trillion in 2025, contributing significantly to the nation's overall investment and job creation.
