Indonesia Urged to Accelerate Green Hydrogen Adoption in Transport and Energy Sectors
HYDROGEN
The Indonesian government is being urged to expedite the use of green hydrogen across various sectors such as transportation, manufacturing, petrochemicals, and battery energy storage to reduce emissions and support decarbonization efforts. The Institute for Essential Services Reform emphasizes that green hydrogen can enhance energy resilience and reduce dependency on fossil fuel imports.
With a projected demand of 11.7 million tons of hydrogen by 2060, Indonesia has the potential to emerge as a clean hydrogen exporter. Furthermore, Pertamina is actively promoting energy transition initiatives to support this vision.
