The Indonesian government is transforming palm oil waste, specifically empty fruit bunches, into bioethanol to facilitate its energy transition. Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita emphasized the importance of collaboration between government and industry.

This initiative, involving partnerships with PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia and the Bandung Institute of Technology, aims to develop sustainable technology. The project utilizes a pilot plant to convert agro-industrial waste into valuable products, promoting renewable energy development and enhancing Indonesia's position in the global clean energy market.
