Isar Aerospace's Spectrum Launch Vehicle Successfully Completes First Test Flight from Andøya Spaceport, Norway
SPACE ECONOMY
Isar Aerospace's Spectrum launch vehicle completed its first test flight on March 30, 2025, from Andøya Spaceport, Norway, but was terminated 30 seconds after liftoff due to an unintended vent valve opening and loss of attitude control. The flight safety system functioned as intended, ensuring public safety, while data gathered will guide improvements for future missions. Isar is currently producing additional Spectrum vehicles and aims to strengthen its position in the satellite launch market, marking a significant milestone as the first orbital launch from continental Europe.
