Israel to Establish International Hydrogen Valley in Negev Desert by 2026
Israel plans to establish an international hydrogen and innovation valley in the eastern Negev desert, according to the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. The project will include a hydrogen refueling station and advanced technologies such as pyrolysis for hydrogen production, hydrogen-based power generators, and other industrial solutions.
Set to launch in 2026, the initiative will involve over 40 million shekels (12 million USD) in government investment. The valley aims to create a comprehensive ecosystem for the hydrogen value chain while fostering innovation in the energy sector. It will serve as a hub for hydrogen production, supply, storage, transportation, and various end uses, contributing to sustainable economic growth and attracting research and industrial activities to the region.
