ISRO to Develop Third Launch Pad at Shriharikota Spaceport in Four Years
SPACE ECONOMY
ISRO is set to develop a third launch pad at the Shriharikota spaceport, with an expected completion date in four years. This new facility will enable the launch of larger satellites weighing over 12,000-14,000 kg into various orbits, as the agency identifies vendors for the project. The Shriharikota complex, operational since 1971 and renamed the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in 2002, has undergone significant expansions to support satellite launches.
