The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has initiated construction of its Advanced Semiconductor R&D Base in Hsinchu County, Taiwan, with a budget of NT$3.772 billion (US$119.57 million). The project, supported by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.

(TSMC), is set for completion in December 2027 and aims to enhance Taiwan's semiconductor ecosystem by reducing product development timelines by 30%. The facility will focus on IC design, advanced manufacturing processes, and equipment verification.
