Jindal Steel Plans Advanced Hydrogen-Ready Ironmaking Facility in Oman

HYDROGENCARBON CAPTURE

Jindal Steel is set to establish a second hydrogen-ready direct reduced iron (DRI) plant in Duqm, Oman, capable of producing 2.5 million tonnes of green iron annually. The facility will utilize a blend of 80% hydrogen and 20% fossil gas, showcasing carbon capture technology.

The company has placed an order with Italian firm Danieli for the plant, although details regarding the binding nature of the order or a final investment decision remain unclear. The produced iron will be processed into hot briquetted iron for storage or export.
