Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero reported a gradual improvement in reservoir levels in Midrand, despite ongoing water supply issues due to an electrical failure and a leak affecting Gauteng. While four out of five reservoirs have reopened and alternative water supplies are being provided, optimal levels have not yet been reached, particularly in Grand Central. Rand Water noted that high consumption rates in Johannesburg and Tshwane are straining the water supply network, prompting upgrades to the Midrand systems.
