Jordan to Build 1.4GW Gas-Fired Power Plants as Part of Economic Modernisation

HYDROGENNATURAL GASENERGY STORAGE

Jordan is set to build two gas-fired power plants with a total capacity of 1.4 GW as part of its Economic Modernisation Programme for 2026-2029. The initiative also includes 300 MW of renewable energy projects, a 400 MWh Battery Energy Storage System, and developments in oil and gas, such as the Risha gas field and the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad LNG Terminal. Additionally, Jordan has signed 13 memoranda of understanding for green hydrogen projects and will explore mining opportunities for various minerals.
