Jupiter Power to Develop 400 MW Battery Storage Facility in Hayden, Colorado
ENERGY STORAGEPOWER GRIDS & TRANSMISSION
The Colorado Public Utilities Commission approved a 400 MW utility-scale battery energy storage facility in Hayden, to be developed by Jupiter Power. The project will be located on a 72-acre site near the Hayden Power Station and Yampa Valley Regional Airport, connecting to the Mount Harris substation.
Xcel Energy will purchase the stored energy through a Power Purchase Agreement. Construction is expected to start in 2027, with operations aimed for 2028, supporting over 200 jobs during peak construction.
