Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield Receives $1.3M for Expansion Project

The Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield will undergo an expansion funded by $1.3 million from the Department of Veterans Affairs, creating 1,100 new burial plots for veterans and their families. The project includes 550 plots for in-ground caskets and 550 for cremations, along with the installation of a bronze Gettysburg Address sign and a Space Force medallion. The in-ground cremation garden is expected to be completed next month, while the casket garden is scheduled for completion in May.
