Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru has inaugurated its Integrated Solid Waste Management Centre, capable of processing 77 tonnes of waste per day. The facility aims to significantly reduce landfill disposal to 2-3% by recycling or recovering 97-98% of waste, utilizing bio-methanation technology for organic waste and advanced segregation systems for inorganic waste. This initiative aligns with the airport's sustainability goals, including achieving net-zero emissions by 2030.
