KenGen Ordered to Clarify Tender Process for 6.38 Million Carbon Credits After Sintmond Group Challenge
CARBON CAPTURE
The Public Procurement Administrative Review Board has ordered Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) to clarify the tender process for 6.38 million carbon credits following a challenge from Sintmond Group Limited, which lost a Sh2.5 billion bid. The board criticized KenGen for failing to respond to Sintmond's inquiries and mandated a formal response within seven days, while also directing the finalization of the tender with the selected bidder, Munja Trading Limited and Marwil Energy Holding AS. This ruling follows previous interventions by the PPARB and a High Court finding that Sintmond was denied a fair hearing.
