Kent City Council approved the sale of a 9.3-acre Naden property to Mortenson Development for $18.3 million to establish a manufacturing campus. The council seeks a manufacturer, ideally in aerospace, to enhance local job creation and economic activity.

Mortenson estimates the project could generate $62 million in its first year and up to $1.1 billion over 20 years. The city has previously owned the property since 2006 and has shifted plans from an aquatic center to this new development.
