Keremeos Council Considers Options for Aging Wastewater Treatment Centrifuge Replacement

WATER INFRASTRUCTURE & DESALINATION

The Village of Keremeos is evaluating options for replacing its aging wastewater treatment centrifuge, which has been experiencing daily gearbox failures and reduced processing capacity. The council has approved a $61,000 budget for a replacement part but was denied a $700,000 grant for a full replacement. Currently, they are considering a $20,000 gearbox replacement or a $250,000 factory refurbished centrifuge that would enhance capacity and provide a backup system.
