The Magnolia Power Generation Station, a $750 million facility by Kindle Energy, has begun operations in Iberville Parish, Louisiana, generating 700 megawatts of electricity for over 500,000 homes. The plant, featuring combined-cycle gas turbines, promises high efficiency and is designed to accommodate future hydrogen use and carbon capture technology.

The project, backed by Blackstone, created 400 construction jobs and will support 25 permanent jobs. A new agreement allows rural cooperatives to purchase power from out-of-state utilities, potentially reducing energy costs by 15%.
