Kit Carson Electric Coop Launches Amalia II Solar and Battery Facility in New Mexico

Kit Carson Electric Cooperative (KCEC) has launched the Amalia II Solar and Battery Facility in New Mexico, adding 8.75 megawatts of solar generation and battery storage. This project boosts KCEC's renewable energy capacity to approximately 51 megawatts of solar and 25 megawatts of battery storage, enhancing grid reliability and supporting wildfire mitigation. Amalia II is part of KCEC's ongoing clean-energy strategy and includes a 25-year power purchase agreement for energy procurement.
