Škoda Auto has opened a new battery assembly hall in Mladá Boleslav, investing €205 million. The facility, covering 55,000 square meters, can produce 335,000 battery systems annually, making Škoda the largest battery producer within the Volkswagen Group.

The hall employs 600 people and assembles one battery system per minute, utilizing lithium iron phosphate chemistry to reduce production costs by 30%. This expansion supports the European battery value chain and Škoda's electrification strategy.
