KOSTT of Kosovo has secured 2.3 hectares of land for a 45 MW battery energy storage system, funded by the US Millennium Challenge Compact, with a total project value of USD 236.7 million. This facility, located near Sojeva village, will enhance KOSTT's automatic frequency restoration reserve, while a second planned project in Peja aims for 125 MW capacity with an estimated investment of USD 180 million. The Millennium Challenge Corporation has allocated over USD 200 million for these initiatives to bolster energy security and promote clean energy in Kosovo.
