KUTS Project Relocation to ART Depot in Kota Samarahan with Linde EOX Contract

HYDROGENSYNTHETIC FUELS

The KUTS project is being relocated from Bintawa to the ART Depot in Rembus, Kota Samarahan, following Sarawak Metro's contract award to Linde EOX for the hydrogen production plant and refuelling station. The contract, valued at RM58 million, is part of Phase 1 of the KUTS hydrogen production strategy and is scheduled for completion by Q4 2026.

The hydrogen plant is expected to produce one tonne of green hydrogen once fully upgraded. Sarawak Metro, a state-owned enterprise, will modernize public transport through the KUTS project, which includes three lines: Blue Line, Red Line, and Green Line. The project will introduce zero-emission ART hydrogen vehicles on dedicated, trackless lanes, with support from hydrogen-powered feeder buses for comprehensive commuter connectivity.
