Kuwait Oil has awarded SLB a five-year, $1.5 billion contract for the design, development, and production management of the Mutriba field, which features high-pressure, high-temperature reservoirs with sour conditions. Commercial production is set to begin on June 15, 2025, following the successful connection of multiple wells to the production infrastructure in the 230 sq km area containing ultra-sour hydrocarbons.
