The Lagos State Government has introduced cooking oil collection kiosks to enhance environmental protection and public health while unlocking a $20 million biofuel market. In collaboration with Ororo Waste Management and supported by the Shell Foundation, the initiative aims to position Lagos as a key player in the global biofuel supply chain and reduce pollution from improper disposal of used cooking oil. Residents can exchange used oil for rewards, promoting economic participation and addressing health concerns associated with oil reuse.
