Lake County commissioners have approved a $1.72 million contract with Workman Industrial Services to modernize the Aquarius Raw Water Pump Station by replacing outdated filtration equipment. The project will update two traveling screens from 1985, enhancing reliability and reducing maintenance challenges for the facility that supplies approximately nine million gallons of water daily to over 80,000 residents. Construction is set to begin later this year, with measures in place to minimize disruption to water operations.
