Long Island Secures $30M for Regional Commercialization Center in New York State Grant

Long Island's economic development officials have received $30 million from New York State to establish a Regional Commercialization Center. Announced by Governor Kathy Hochul, the funding is part of a $150 million competition involving ten regional councils.
The center, which will be operated by Newlab LLC, aims to support startups in Nassau, Suffolk Counties, and New York City, focusing on aerospace-defense, clean energy, cyber systems, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence. The facility is expected to open in late 2027.
