Luxcara Acquires 520 MW Battery Storage Project in Waltrop, Germany

ENERGY STORAGE

Luxcara has acquired a 520 MW battery energy storage system project in Waltrop, Germany, one of the largest in the country. The facility will be constructed on a repurposed industrial site and is set to operate under a tolling agreement.

The project is part of the Waltrop Battery Park, which will have a total capacity of 900 MW. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026, with collaborations involving BKW AG and Trianel GmbH.
