Map-it CCU Project Launches to Enhance Carbon Capture Utilization Across Flemish Industries

BIOFUELSCARBON CAPTURE

The Map-it CCU project, a VLAIO intercluster COOCK initiative, aims to gather and analyze knowledge on carbon capture utilization (CCU) technologies from various stakeholders, including industry and knowledge institutes. The project seeks to provide Flemish companies with a structured overview of feasible cleantech technologies for their sustainability efforts, particularly those aiming for carbon neutrality.

Activities will commence in January 2024 and continue for 1.5 years, involving training, MOOCs, and workshops. The project prioritizes smaller ETS emitters and non-ETS sectors, such as biogas and food industries, to enhance CO capture and valorization.

Challenges include technological maturity and the establishment of new industrial value chains in Flanders. A dedicated industrial advisory board will ensure the relevance and applicability of the project outcomes.
