Masdar, Engie, and Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) are collaborating on the Khazna Solar PV project in Abu Dhabi, which will generate 1.5 GW of decarbonized electricity by 2027. This facility will feature 3 million photovoltaic panels and a 19 GWh Battery Energy Storage System, making it the largest of its kind globally, and is expected to power approximately 160,000 households while reducing CO2 emissions by over 2.4 million tons annually. Advanced digital technologies will be employed to optimize performance and address solar energy intermittency.
