Massena Village Returns $2.4 Million Water Grant After Air Products Project Cancellation

HYDROGEN

The village of Massena is returning a $2.4 million grant for a water line project after the cancellation of Air Products' $500 million green hydrogen facility. Mayor Greg Paquin indicated that the decision was prompted by inquiries from Empire State Development and concerns over the aging 24-inch concrete water line, which poses risks if it fails. Village officials are now seeking alternative funding for infrastructure upgrades and a redundant water line.
