The Masungi Georeserve Foundation Inc. (MGFI) is opposing the Rizal Wind Energy Corporation's proposed 603-megawatt wind farm due to concerns over its potential impact on the Upper Marikina River Basin Protected Landscape and local water resources.

Despite the project's renewable energy intentions, MGFI argues it threatens conservation areas, leading them to petition for a cease-and-desist order, which was denied by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. The foundation contends that the project's location is too close to protected sites, including the Masungi Georeserve.
