Mendocino County Fire Departments Enhance Capabilities with New Equipment and Weather Station

ENERGY STORAGE

Fire departments in Mendocino County have recently upgraded their equipment, including the installation of a new weather station on the South Coast. The Mendocino Unit of Cal Fire, in collaboration with Cal Fire Predictive Services, has deployed the Portable Remote Automated Weather Station at Gualala Airport to enhance fire weather monitoring.

This station aims to provide accurate fire danger ratings and improve situational awareness for local communities. Additionally, EcoFlow, Footprint Project, and Sunrun Power donated solar panels, portable power stations, and smart generators to fire districts in inland Mendocino County.

This equipment will support emergency response by providing off-grid power for command posts and equipment storage. Trailers from several fire districts were upgraded with solar panels and EcoFlow energy storage systems. EcoFlow plans to continue its support by partnering with the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services on future projects through 2026.
