HYDROGENBIOFUELS
Mesa County Commissioners have approved a $100,000 study to evaluate the Grand Valley Transit system's transition to zero-emission vehicle technologies, with $90,000 of the funding coming from the Colorado Department of Transportation. The study will assess the current fleet's compliance with zero-emission criteria, explore renewable natural gas options, and analyze emerging technologies like battery-electric buses and hydrogen fuel cells. Managed by the Mesa County Regional Transportation Planning Office, the study aims to support future transit funding applications requiring a zero-emission transition plan.
