Miaoli County Launches Green Hydrogen Demonstration Park with Fortune Electric Investment
Miaoli County Government announced plans to establish a 1.9-hectare green hydrogen demonstration park in Tongluo Township, collaborating with Fortune Electric to support Taiwan's 2050 net-zero goal. The project will integrate research, industry demonstrations, and education, positioning the county as a testbed for hydrogen energy.
Fortune Electric plans to invest over NT$3.27 billion (US$103 million) in three phases, utilizing solar power to produce green hydrogen and aiming for an annual output of at least 280,000 tonnes. The initiative is expected to generate NT$500 million (US$16 million) in revenue and NT$10 billion in total economic value. The project focuses on pilot tests rather than mass production to enhance industry confidence and skill development, while additional power generation and a new reservoir are planned to support future hydrogen energy needs.
