Microsoft and Equinor Forge Strategic Partnership to Enhance Carbon Capture and Storage Initiatives
CARBON CAPTURE
Microsoft has entered into a strategic agreement with Norwegian energy company Equinor to advance carbon capture, transport, and storage (CCTS) in Northwestern Europe and the United States. This collaboration builds on their existing partnership and the Northern Lights project, the world’s first cross-border CO2 transport and storage initiative.
Equinor's expertise in CO2 transport and storage complements Microsoft's role as a leading buyer of carbon dioxide removal credits. The partnership aims to accelerate the deployment of carbon capture solutions while reinforcing both companies' climate strategies.
