Microsoft has entered a 12-year agreement with Indigo Carbon PBC to purchase 2.85 million soil carbon removal credits, supporting U.S. farmers and promoting regenerative agriculture. This deal, valued between $171 million and $228 million, is part of Microsoft's goal to become carbon negative by 2030 and follows previous collaborations between the two companies. The credits are approved under the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market's Core Carbon Principles, highlighting the importance of sustainable farming practices in CO2 sequestration.
