On February 3, Middle Village residents debated the future of the dismantled St. Saviour's Church and a proposed lithium-ion battery storage facility at a meeting held by the Middle Village Residents Association.

The church, stored in trailers, has been inactive since its dismantling in 2008. Estimates for reconstruction range from $5-7 million, with city officials expressing interest in funding. Concerns were raised regarding the battery facility’s location near schools, while the NYSERDA stated its safety under regulations.
