Minooka Village Board Approves Purchase of 100 Acres for Future Wastewater Treatment Plant

WATER INFRASTRUCTURE & DESALINATION

The Minooka Village Board has approved the purchase of 100 acres of land for a future wastewater treatment plant at a cost of approximately $5 million, with support from the Conservation Foundation for half of the acquisition. The site, located on Route 6 near industrial areas, will also include open space to buffer residential zones, and construction is expected to begin in about ten years. The village plans to apply for a grant to help cover the costs associated with the land purchase.
