NASA Revises Artemis III Mission; Lunar Landing Delayed to 2028
SPACE ECONOMY
NASA has restructured the Artemis missions, shifting Artemis III from a lunar landing to an Earth-orbit rendezvous in 2027. The first lunar landing will now occur during Artemis IV in 2028. Technical issues with the Space Launch System (SLS) have delayed the Artemis II launch, now targeted for April 2026.
The changes aim to increase launch frequency and reduce complexity. SpaceX's Starship and Blue Origin's Blue Moon will be involved in future lunar missions, with Artemis II still proceeding as planned despite prior delays.
