NASA's Orion Capsule to Support Crewed Artemis Missions Beyond Low Earth Orbit

The NASA Space Launch System (SLS) is designed to send the Orion capsule and its crew beyond low Earth orbit. Artemis II will feature a crew flying around the Moon, leading to Artemis III's planned lunar landing.
Orion includes advanced life support, radiation protection, and a large thermal shield. It has a propulsion system with 33 engines and incorporates over 150 3D-printed parts. The capsule consists of a launch abort system, service module, and crew module, each with specific propulsion capabilities for navigation and safety.
